Professor Philip George
Substance Abuse Specialist
Professor Philip George is our Medical Director and the President of Malaysian Healthy Ageing Society. He is a committee member of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia. His previous appointments include Senior Staff Specialist at the Alcohol & Drug Program at Canberra Hospital and at the ACT Mental Health in Canberra Hospital. His area of expertise is substance abuse.
Ms. Reena Clare
Reena has a Masters in Art Psychotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire. She is a qualified Art Psychotherapist and a certified practitioner with Children's Accelerated Trauma Treatment. She has worked in London with various client including those living with mental health disorders, special needs, bereavement, dementia, addiction and physical health conditions in the NHS, Westminster Arts, Kids Company and The European Reminiscence Network.
Associate Professor Dr. Hamidin Awang
Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
Currently the Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science at University Putra Malaya, Dr. Hamidin is also the President of the Behavioural Medicine Association of Malaysia. His clinical areas of interest are: child and adolescent issues including autism, hyperactivity and inattention, school refusal, oppositional behaviour, learning difficulties, stress and anxiety, as well as attachment-focused parenting.
Ms. Chiang Khai Chong,
Ms. K.C. Chiang works with adolescents and adults on a wide range of conditions such as depression, anxiety, OCD, personality disorders and chronic stress. Her main therapeutic approach is Mindfulness-based therapy integrated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She holds a Masters of Clinical Psychology from UKM and a post-graduate diploma in Health Psychology form UKM.
Dr. Gurdeep Grewal
Dr. Gurdeep has a Masters of Psychological Medicine from the University of Malaya, as well as a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. He is a Certified Medical Impairment Assessor and a certified trainer with the Human Development Fund, which is under the auspices of the Ministry of Human Resources.
Joyce is a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist from the National Guild of Hypnotists (USA), and has a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy from the London College of Clinical Hypnosis (UK) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (SG). She is a licensed HypnoBand practitioner (UK), and a SleepTalk for Children Consultant. She also conducts Emotional Freedom Technique sessions for clients.
Association Professor Dr. Stephen Jambunathan, Consultant Psychiatrist
An Associate Professor at the University of Malaysia, Stephen is also the acting head of the Department of Psychological Medicine in the University of Malaya. He was previously the Deputy President in the MPA Reach Association, and the Director of Early Intervention Center. In 2007, he received Anugerah Cemerlang from University Malaya for his contributions to the field. He specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, and has published several academic papers.
Ms. Sharan Kaur
Ms. Sharan has a PhD. in Human Behavioural Psychology and a Masters in Counselling. She is a certified trainer for the Prepare Enrich Program and Pre-marriage program. She is also a qualified family and relationship counsellor with the Australian College of Applied Psychology.
Mr. Ko Teik Yen
Clinical Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness-based Psychotherapist
Mr. Ko is a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness Psychotherapist who founded the LCCH Therapy Centre at Pantai Hospital. He specialises in trauma healing and PTSD, chronic pain and persistent complaints, irritable bowel syndrome, phobias and other anxiety related disorders. He integrates mindfulness-based interventions (such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) with Solution Focused Brief Therapy (.e.g, EMDR).
Professor Andrew Law
Andrew is the Professor of Psychiatry, and the Head of the Department of Psychiatry at Perdana University-RCSI. He received his Masters of Philosophy in Cardiovascular Physiology at the University of Cambridge (UK) and his PhD in Neuroscience from McGill University (Canada). He received the Doctoral Research Award from the Alzheimer Society of Canada. Andrew has published over twenty research articles. He specialises in old-age psychiatry with a focus on cognitive disorders.
Ms. Elsie Liaw, Clinical Psychologist
Elsie holds a Masters of Clinical Psychology from University Kebangsaan Malaya and a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) from University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). She specialises in the provision of psychological assessment and interventions for children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. She also uses play therapy in her sessions with children.
Professor T. Maniam
Professor Maniam is one of our most accomplished practitioners. He was the Senior Consultant and the Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) until he retired. He was recently appointed the Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry at UKM. In the past, he has been the President of the Malaysian Psychiatric Association, and the National Representative to the International Association of Suicide Prevention. His published work extensively covers the issue of suicidal behaviour.
Dr. Joseph Panikulam, Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr. Joseph is a senior lecturer at Taylor's University School of Medicine. He has extensive experience with non-profit organizations working as a consultant for the Health Equities Initiative - an NGO that provides services for refugees in Malaysia. He has worked with MSF (Doctors Without Borders) Holland, conducted assessments of psychiatric services in Iraq, and was a mental health coordinator at the International Medical Corps in Jordan.
Mr. Bala Somasundran
Mr. Bala is a lecturer at Tunku Abdul Rahman College. He was the principal of the Handicapped Children's Appeal - a special school in Penang for children with multiple disabilities. He has a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counselling from Southern University, Louisiana; a certificate in Clinical Hypnotherapy from London College of Hypnotherapy. He is also an EMDR practitioner.
Dr Noor Aishah Rosli
Dr Aishah is a child psychologist focuses on family therapy, clinical child treatment and psychological assessment. She received her Doctoral in Counselling Psychology from Marquette University (Wisconsin, America), and completed Child Clinical Psychology for Doctoral Program at the Institute for Child and Family Health (Miami, Florida). Both programs are accredited by the American Psychological Association. She incorporates play therapy and parent-child interaction therapy into her practice.
Dyani has a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Speech Sciences from University College London. She is also member of the Royal College of Speech and Language. She is also attached to the National Stroke Association of Malaysia and Pantai Integrated Rehab at Pantai Hospital. She works with a broad range of patients who have communication, as well as eating and drinking difficulties.
Shankar lectures in the areas of behavioural sciences, psychology, conflict management and counselling in various universities in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. He specialises in therapeutic interventions, psychosocial assessment and integrative mental health therapy. The focus of his therapy is on self-discovery, behavioural change, psychosocial insight, change management, symptom relief and seeking existential meaning. He is also an EMDR practitioner.
Dr. Bharati Vengadasalm
Dr. Bharati was formerly the Head of the Department of Psychiatry, and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in University Putra She is currently a senior lecturer at the University Putra Malaysia.
Woo Sau Mun
Behavioural Therapist and Learning Consultant
Sau Mun boasts 20 years of experience working with young children in both an educational and clinical setting. She has worked with children who have Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Autism, Language and Communication Difficulties and dyslexia. Her specialty is early intervention; she adopts a multidisciplinary approach, working closely with schools, parents, social services and other support agencies. She believes in empowering parents through education, and aims to making parenting children with learning difficulties a rewarding experience.
