About Dr Assvin
When what you're facing feels shameful or stuck, it helps to sit with someone who has seen it all and judges none of it. Dr Assvin is a consultant psychiatrist with a special interest in addiction, with more than a decade diagnosing and treating anxiety, mood and psychotic disorders, substance use disorders and behavioural addictions.
His expertise is recognised well beyond the clinic: a frequent guest speaker at medical courses and on national radio and television, he has helped translate complex mental health ideas for a wide audience, and served on the committee that developed Malaysia's Ministry of Health guidelines for behavioural addiction.
Care here is holistic and personalised: psychiatric evaluation, pharmacological management, individual and group therapy, and relapse prevention, combining the latest research with evidence-based treatment. The aim is never a quick fix, but recovery that lasts.
MBBS (AIMST), Master of Medicine in Psychiatry (UPM) and a Fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry (MOH Malaysia & Royal Melbourne Hospital). Registered with the MMC and the National Specialist Register.
