About Dr Deepa
If you've been carrying something heavy for a long time, Dr Deepa offers a place to set it down. With more than twelve years of experience, she provides compassionate, person-centred and trauma-informed care for depression, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, psychological trauma and trauma-related conditions including PTSD and C-PTSD, and psychotic disorders.
Being trauma-informed isn't a technique she adds on. It runs through everything she does. She works from the understanding that we are shaped by what we've lived through, and that, with the right support, those patterns can be understood and rewritten. The past is taken seriously here, but it's never treated as a life sentence.
Her expertise is sought well beyond the clinic, as a guest lecturer at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, and through talks, media and mental health training for the public, students, healthcare workers and corporate clients.
She weaves evidence-based psychotherapies through her work, from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to EMDR and Interpersonal Psychotherapy, choosing the approach that fits you, so healing is both gentle and grounded in what works.
M.D. (Universitas Andalas) and MMed in Psychiatry (UPM), with twelve years treating mood, anxiety, trauma-related and psychotic disorders.
