Education

I have worked with youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs), including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Down Syndrome, etc. I emphasised on building up their sense of self, setting their life direction and self-advocacy skills toward living a meaningful life.

I incorporate self-advocacy skills with a thoughtful, caring and strength-based approach into my practice underpinning systemic intervention. I keep updated by attending conferences and workshops.

I believe that persons with IDDs have their own potential which needs understanding and support to overcome their life challenges. I help them to develop their sense of self with achievable personal goals.

During the first session, I will gather as much information I can about you and begin building trust with you. We will discuss what goals you would like to achieve in therapy. I provide a safe space without judgment.

I speak English, Malay and Mandarin
