Dr Pang Jee Chin

Special Education Consultant

Dr Pang has a PhD in Special Education from University of Malaya. She obtained her Master in Special Needs (University of Nottingham, Malaysia) in 2012. Dr Pang has 20 years of experience working closely with individuals and families who are living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

I have worked with youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs), including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Down Syndrome, etc. I emphasised on building up their sense of self, setting their life direction and self-advocacy skills toward living a meaningful life.

I incorporate self-advocacy skills with a thoughtful, caring and strength-based approach into my practice underpinning systemic intervention. I keep updated by attending conferences and workshops.

I believe that persons with IDDs have their own potential which needs understanding and support to overcome their life challenges. I help them to develop their sense of self with achievable personal goals.

During the first session, I will gather as much information I can about you and begin building trust with you. We will discuss what goals you would like to achieve in therapy. I provide a safe space without judgment.

I speak English, Malay and Mandarin
