Meet The Team
Professor Dr Philip George
Consultant Adult Psychiatrist & Addiction Medicine Specialist
Professor Dr Philip George was the Past President of Malaysian Healthy Ageing Society and a committee member of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia. His previous appointments include Senior Staff Specialist at the Alcohol & Drug Program at Canberra Hospital and at the ACT Mental Health in Australia. His area of expertise is adult psychiatry and substance abuse.
Associate Professor Hamidin Awang
Currently the Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science at University Putra Malaya, Dr. Hamidin is also the President of the Behavioural Medicine Association of Malaysia. His clinical areas of interest are: child and adolescent issues including autism, hyperactivity and inattention, school refusal, oppositional behaviour, learning difficulties, stress and anxiety, as well as attachment-focused parenting.
Reena has a Masters in Art Psychotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire. She is a qualified Art Psychotherapist and a certified practitioner with Children's Accelerated Trauma Treatment. She has worked in London with various client including those living with mental health disorders, special needs, bereavement, dementia, addiction and physical health conditions in the NHS, Westminster Arts, Kids Company and The European Reminiscence Network.
Chiang Khai Chong
K.C. Chiang works with adolescents and adults on a wide range of conditions such as depression, anxiety, OCD and chronic stress. Her main therapeutic approach is Mindfulness-based therapy integrated with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She holds a Masters of Clinical Psychology degree from UKM. Her mindfulness training come from both the Buddhist and secular tradition. She is currently an apprentice teacher for Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) by Oxford Mindfulness Centre.
Joyce is a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist from the National Guild of Hypnotists (USA), and has a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy from the London College of Clinical Hypnosis (UK) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (SG). She is a licensed HypnoBand practitioner (UK), and a SleepTalk for Children Consultant. She also conducts Emotional Freedom Technique sessions for clients.
Dr Stephen Jambunathan
Previously, Stephen was the acting head of the Department of Psychological Medicine in the University of Malaya. He was also the Deputy President in the MPA Reach Association, and the Director of Early Intervention Center. In 2007, he received Anugerah Cemerlang from University Malaya for his contributions to the field. He specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, and has published several academic papers.
Ms. Sharan is a registered counsellor with the Lembaga Kaunselling Malaysia and has been practicing privately for more than 20 years. She offers individual counselling for depression, anxiety and other stress-related issues. Her main focus is relationship counselling (marriage, same-sex and family), helping to build more joyful and meaningful relationships. She has postgraduate qualifications from the University of Malaya and is also a certified trainer for the Prepare Enrich program. She is also a member of the Australian College of Applied Psychology.
Ko Teik Yen
Mr. Ko is a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness Psychotherapist who founded the LCCH Therapy Centre at Pantai Hospital. He specialises in trauma healing and PTSD, chronic pain and persistent complaints, irritable bowel syndrome, phobias and other anxiety related disorders. He integrates mindfulness-based interventions (such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) with Solution Focused Brief Therapy (.e.g, EMDR).
Professor Andrew Law
Andrew is the Professor of Psychiatry, and the Head of the Department of Psychiatry at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland Malaysia. He completed his medical and psychiatry training at Saint Louis University and the University of Toronto, as well as higher degrees from the University of Cambridge and McGill University for his research in cardiovascular and neurological sciences. He specialises in managing eldery and adult mental health issues such as anxiety-spectrum disorders, dementia, mood disorders and psychosis. Using a holistic approach, he appreciates the balanced practice of psychological and drug treatments. He is fluent in Cantonese and Engish.
Elsie holds a Masters of Clinical Psychology from University Kebangsaan Malaya. Previously, she was attached with University Malaya Medical Centre as a clinical psychologist officer. Elsie specialises in the provision of psychological assessments and interventions for children, adolescents and adults. She is also a member of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology.
Dr Joseph Panikulam
Dr. Joseph is a senior lecturer at Taylor's University School of Medicine. He has extensive experience with non-profit organizations working as a consultant for the Health Equities Initiative - an NGO that provides services for refugees in Malaysia. He has worked with MSF (Doctors Without Borders) Holland, conducted assessments of psychiatric services in Iraq, and was a mental health coordinator at the International Medical Corps in Jordan.
With over 20 years of experience, Susan Piti graduated with a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of South Carolina. She boasts a wide range of counselling experience including running a successful private practice in the United States. She specialises in couples counselling; women’s issues; and treating PTSD, anxiety, and mood disorders such as depression and bipolar. She also has extensive experience in helping clients develop their communication and parenting skills as well as resolve gender identity issues.
Her holistic approach combines cognitive behavioural therapy with mindfulness techniques and wellness principles to enhance the quality of life for her clients. To complement her practice, Sue will complete her Yoga teaching certification in 2020.
Dr Noor Aishah
Dr Aishah is a child psychologist focuses on family therapy, clinical child treatment and psychological assessment. She received her Doctoral in Counselling Psychology from Marquette University (Wisconsin, America), and completed Child Clinical Psychology for Doctoral Program at the Institute for Child and Family Health (Miami, Florida). Both programs are accredited by the American Psychological Association. She incorporates play therapy and parent-child interaction therapy into her practice.
Shankar lectures in the areas of behavioural sciences, psychology, conflict management and counselling in various universities in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. He specialises in therapeutic interventions, psychosocial assessment and integrative mental health therapy. The focus of his therapy is on self-discovery, behavioural change, psychosocial insight, change management, symptom relief and seeking existential meaning. He is also an EMDR practitioner.
Dr Pang Jee Ching
Dr Pang has a PhD in Special Education from University of Malaya. She obtained her Master in Special Needs (University of Nottingham, Malaysia) in 2012. Dr Pang has 20 years of experience working closely with individuals and families who are living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Understanding each of the individuals has individual learning needs, she integrates person-centred underpinning human rights approach by working with them, helping them to speak up, finding purpose in their life, supporting and placing these individuals with developmental disabilities into open employment or otherwise appropriate.
Azman Shah Bin Dato Aziz
Mr Azman is a psychologist with more than 25 years of experience across various settings from crisis intervention in emergency rooms to private clinics. He worked in Montgomery General Hospital in Maryland, USA to provide crisis intervention services. Azman is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Crisis Intervention. He continues to seek ongoing updates to his skills and knowledge base. Azman is invested in an approach emphasising a more integrative, dynamic, and holistic approach to mental health. He is particularly concerned with the impact of loss and trauma and improving intervention to support trauma recovery for better emotional, physical and relationship health.
Dato Tan Yoke Hwa
Consultant Dietician and Clinical Hypnotherapist
Dato’ Tan Yoke Hwa graduated with a degree in Clinical Hypnotherapy from London College of Clinical Hypnosis.
Using hypnotherapy, she helps people overcome various challenges and phobias. She also help clients with improving their self-confidence and performance in all areas of work and life. She is also a licensed dietitian, completing her qualifications at The London Metropolitan University, U.K.
As a licensed dietician, she has works closely with doctors and specialists in the holistic care of the clients with diseases that require diet management such as weight management and eating disorders.
Dr Lim has been a psychiatrist for over 20 years in Great Britain, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore. A graduate of The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI, Dublin), he served the NHS in England. He was Senior Staff Specialist in Psychiatry in Australia and Senior Consultant Psychiatrist in Singapore. He was Adjunct Associate Professor in Psychiatry with National University of Singapore-Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine as well as Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore. He has a wide range of local interests in Malaysia, and thoroughly enjoyed his time abroad in Ireland, Great Britain, Australia and Singapore.
